Aware that fulfilling its social role at such a delicate time is fundamental, the company has expanded its commitment to social responsibility by donating the amount of R$ 7,759,971.45 to initiatives to combat COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>For Anselmo Leal, vice president of State Grid Brazil Holding, this is a time for unity, solidarity, and synergy in the effort to combat the virus and protect life. \u201cWe cannot close our eyes. The impacts will be enormous and will be experienced by everyone, but united, we are stronger in facing this pandemic,\u201d says Leal.<\/p>\n<p>With actions focused on the areas of health and social assistance, directly related to the pandemic, SGBH reaffirms its commitment to society, always contributing to the pursuit of a better future.<\/p>\n<h2>Donations:<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Saving Lives Program<\/strong> \u2013 R$ 1,000,000.00 \u2013 Through its concessionaire Xingu Rio Transmissora de Energia, SGBH joined the BNDES&#039;s Saving Lives crowdfunding program, donating R$ 1 million. The amount will be allocated to five institutions, each receiving R$ 200,000: Santa Casa de Campo Belo (MG), Santa Casa de Campo Grande (MS), Hospital Dr. Moises Magalhaes Freire de Pirapora (MG), Santa Casa de Ribeir\u00e3o Preto (SP), and Santa Casa de Rondon\u00f3polis (MT). According to the Saving Lives format, BNDES will double the monetary value of contributions received from companies and civil society up to a total of R$ 50 million. The funds will be used on the front lines of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, specifically for the purchase of materials, supplies, and protective equipment for doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals working in the most needy charitable hospitals and healthcare institutions across the country, following the criticality criteria established by the bank in relation to Covid-19.<\/p>\n<p><strong>State of Rio de Janeiro<\/strong> \u2013 R$ 1,020,488.88 \u2013 10,000 basic food baskets containing cleaning and hygiene products were donated to the social programs of the Rio de Janeiro State government by its transmission companies Xingu Rio \u2013 XRTE and Belo Monte \u2013 BMTE (a partnership with Eletrobras). The resources for the donation were financed by the BNDES&#039;s Corporate Social Investment \u2013 ISE line. 100,000 surgical masks were also donated \u2013 R$ 300,000.00 \u2013 using own resources.<\/p>\n<p><strong>City of Rio de Janeiro<\/strong> \u2013 R$ 2,769,337.76 \u2013 264 hospital beds were donated to the Riocentro Field Hospital in Rio de Janeiro. These included 100 motorized Fowler beds for the ICU and 164 for the ward, through its transmission companies Xingu Rio \u2013 XRTE and Belo Monte \u2013 BMTE (in partnership with Eletrobras). The resources for the donation were financed by the BNDES&#039;s Corporate Social Investment \u2013 ISE line.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Paracambi (RJ)<\/strong> \u2013 R$ 1,352,537.22 \u2013 The municipality received hospital equipment and PPE for the Adalberto da Gra\u00e7a Municipal Hospital. Donations included 12 semi-intensive care unit beds, 12 parameter monitors, 12 infusion pumps, two crash carts, six closed-circuit aspirators, two defibrillators integrated into the monitor, as well as surgical and N95 masks, protective goggles, waterproof gowns, gloves, caps, and hand sanitizer, among other items. One thousand basic food baskets were also donated to the Paracambi city hall&#039;s social assistance program. The resources for the donation were provided by its transmission company Xingu Rio \u2013 XRTE \u2013 and financed by the BNDES&#039;s Corporate Social Investment line.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Anapu (PA)<\/strong> \u2013 R$ 616,066.67 - The kits donated to the Anapu Municipal Hospital contain personal protective equipment as well as disposable surgical masks, gloves, gowns, surgical caps, shoe covers, protective glasses, and hand sanitizer. The municipality also received 100 basic food baskets that will be delivered through the city hall&#039;s social program. The resources for the donation were provided by its transmission company Xingu Rio \u2013 XRTE \u2013 and financed by the BNDES&#039;s Corporate Social Investment line \u2013 ISE.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Itumbiara (GO)<\/strong> \u2013 R$ 701,386.92 \u2013 The municipality received five hospital beds, five portable aspirators, two multiparameter monitors, five cardioverters with capnography, 15 infusion pumps, and personal protective equipment kits including surgical and N95 masks, protective goggles, waterproof gowns, gloves, caps, and hand sanitizer, among other items.
