Minduri, a city with 3,741 inhabitants located 295 km from Belo Horizonte and located in the area covered by the Xingu Rio Transmission System (XRTE), has just received its Casa da Ci\u00eancia, a center for the dissemination of science and professional training for the region's residents. Located on the site of the Minduri Center for Ecological Studies and Research (CEPEM) and the Fernando Penha Alves Convention Center, the Casa da Ci\u00eancia de Minduri was inaugurated on September 27, at an event attended by representatives of State Grid Brazil Holding (SGBH), local authorities, students and representatives of civil society organizations in Minduri.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

\u00a0<\/span>The project to install the Minduri Science Center received R$550,000 in funding from State Grid Brazil Holding. With the renovation, the facility now has rooms with various laboratory equipment, computers, and audio and video installations for public viewing. The facility will also offer professional training courses aimed at acquiring important skills for the job market, with priority given to students from the city who have completed or are currently attending high school.\u00a0<\/p>

In addition to renovating and adapting the use of the Casa da Ci\u00eancia, State Grid contributed to the reforestation of the land surrounding CEPEM. The site is also used as a leisure area by city residents for walking and other physical activities. The CEPEM Reforestation Project began in December 2022, with the planting of more than 700 seedlings.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

\u00a0<\/span>The social and cultural actions carried out by SGBH in the municipality of Minduri go beyond the Casa da Ci\u00eancia. The Minduri Band also received support from the company on a previous occasion, through incentives for the musical group in the amount of R$1,400,000, which included the donation of 35 musical instruments.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0\u201cWith an eye on the future of these young people, State Grid Brazil Holding supported this initiative of the Minduri Science House, where they will be able to develop their skills for the job market in various areas. All of this is framed by the beauty of reinvigorated nature, with the reforested leisure area. Our relationship with Minduri is not new\u2026 In addition to caring for nature and education, we also value the appreciation of culture, and for this reason we invested a few years ago in the Minduri Band, a partnership that bore fruit for the city and involved the donation of musical instruments.
