ENERGY TO TRANSFORM LIFE

In the State Grid Brazil Holding, we are aware of our role as a socially responsible company. After all, we operate in an essential sector and we need to ensure the continuity of our services to promote well-being, health and quality of life for the Brazilian population. We know that our good energy, delivered with quality and efficiency, is essential for the functioning of hospitals, industries, commerce, services and the daily lives of millions of people.

Since our arrival in Brazil, we have been committed to the socioeconomic and cultural development of the locations where we operate. In line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, we join the global call to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity.

With this objective, we make social investments with our own resources and incentives, planning and executing partnerships and supporting a series of projects and initiatives.

At State Grid Brazil Holding, we always seek to support initiatives that contribute to improving people's quality of life, especially in communities in the areas of influence of our concessionaires. Check out some of these projects.

Social Projects

Our social projects, aligned with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aim to meet the needs of communities surrounding our areas of operation.

BASIC QUILOMBOLA ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAM (PBAQ)

Since 2017, we have been developing actions in the Malhadinha community, in the municipality of Brejinho de Nazaré/TO, aiming at the sustainable development and socio-environmental integrity of the quilombola community, as part of the environmental licensing process. The project was developed in three lines of action: Project to Promote Local Productive Activities; Structural Reform of the Community Shed; and Actions foreseen in the Basic Environmental Plan related to the Environmental Education programs, Environmental Education Program and Environmental Plan for Construction. Among the actions already carried out, we highlight the implementation of the fruit pulp processing unit, the installation of artesian wells and the promotion of rural entrepreneurship and technological training courses for residents and community leaders. Currently, SGBH provides technical and financial support for the operation of the Unit to optimize income generation from the sale of fruit pulp.

Valongo Pier

Located in the port area of Rio de Janeiro, Cais do Valongo is recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as a World Heritage Site for being the only material trace of the arrival of slaves in the Americas. In order to preserve this memory and the historical value of the site, SGBH has been promoting revitalization and education actions at Cais do Valongo. In total, the project will have investments of around R$1,400,000. In 2020, it is worth highlighting the training of around 200 people through the Cais de Ideias project.

SCHOOL REFORM IN TOCANTINS AND PARÁ

With the aim of improving teaching conditions in the communities where we operate, we supported the renovation of 2 municipal schools in Porto Nacional/TO, 7 municipal schools in Pacajá (PA) and 1 municipal school in Anapu (PA). In Pacajá (PA), the direct target audience of this project was the 3,891 students served by the school in the city's public education system, in addition to the 284 employees of these public institutions.

In Porto Nacional (TO), the project benefited 671 students served by public schools in the city of Porto Nacional, as well as 74 employees who work there. In Anapu (PA), the project benefited 436 (four hundred and thirty-six) students served by public schools in the city of Anapu, as well as 38 employees who work there. Of these students, 179 (one hundred and seventy-nine) are housed in a rented building that serves as an annex to the school, generating monthly costs for the city government.

In all municipalities, we can consider that the families served by the schools will benefit indirectly from the reform, as it will provide a better environment for learning and development in this region.
