State Grid Brazil Holding has partnered with SENAI to offer three free vocational training courses in the municipality of Graça Aranha, Maranhão: bricklayer, administrative assistant, and construction carpenter. This initiative expands employment opportunities in the construction of the Graça Aranha–Silvânia Transmissora de Energia (GATE) project. Half of the places in each course are reserved for women.
This initiative is part of GATE Educa, a professional qualification program linked to the GATE project. SENAI was chosen for the partnership because it is a nationally recognized and qualified technical education institution. The course topics were defined based on a socioeconomic diagnosis of the municipalities in the project's area of influence and a survey of potential job opportunities related to the construction work.
“Investing in professional training is a concrete way to contribute to the socioeconomic development of the region. The quota system for women also reinforces our commitment to diversity and inclusion in the energy sector,” comments Anne Pereira, ESG manager at SGBH.
With a workload of 160 hours and in-person classes in the evening, the masonry and administrative assistant courses will be held from March 9th to May 4th. The carpentry course will begin on May 4th and continue until June 26th. The list of approved students has already been released and... It's available here.
