The Chairman of State Grid Brazil Holding (SGBH), Mr. Sun Tao, participated in two major international events as a representative of the State Grid Corporation of China: the 10th Energy Week of the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE), in Santiago, Chile, from September 30 to October 3; and the World Energy Week 2025 in Panama City, from October 6 to 9.
The 10th OLADE Energy Week was co-organized by OLADE, the Chilean Ministry of Energy, and the World Bank. The event brought together more than 2,500 participants from 49 countries, including energy ministers, government officials, leaders of international organizations, representatives of energy companies, and academic institutions.
World Energy Week 2025 was jointly organized by the World Energy Council and the National Secretariat of Energy of Panama. The conference was attended by more than 500 guests from over 100 countries, including representatives from governments, companies, and research centers.
During both events, President Sun Tao presented an overview of SGCC, highlighting its achievements in smart grids and ultra-high voltage (UHV) transmission. He also shared SGBH's experience supporting Brazil's energy transition and its contribution to the country's economic and social development. Mr. Sun Tao offered reflections on the responsibilities of governments, associations, and companies in building equity and trust, as well as perspectives on the future of global energy development.
The president also emphasized four core principles: "safety first in grid operations," "intelligence guiding future development," "fairness and trust through collaboration among all parties," and "innovation and cooperation for sustainable growth." These ideas were widely recognized and well-received by conference participants.
Delegates praised SGCC's global leadership in UHV technology and smart grid development, as well as SGBH's notable contributions to Brazil's green energy transition and socioeconomic development. Many agreed that China's innovation in UHV transmission and Artificial Intelligence will play an important role in promoting intercontinental energy interconnection and driving a global transition to clean, low-carbon energy.
Several representatives of international organizations and companies expressed interest in deepening cooperation with SGCC and SGBH in the future, seeking to strengthen technological and project exchanges at multiple levels and in different formats, jointly contributing to global energy sustainability and a healthier planet.
