Environmental responsibility and transparency are integral to State Grid Brazil Holding's (SGBH) processes. And this commitment has just been recognized once again: the company has been awarded the Gold Seal by the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program for the fourth consecutive year. The initiative, developed by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), recognizes companies with best practices in measuring, verifying, and disclosing greenhouse gas emissions. The seal award ceremony took place on August 6th in São Paulo.
This year, SGBH implemented a double-checking procedure for internal data. This ensured greater consistency and accuracy in its emissions reporting, in addition to the highest level of qualification.
"Our inventory is the result of the collaborative work of more than 20 employees from the Operations & Maintenance, Ultra High Voltage, Facilities, Environment, Land, and Project Management areas, in partnership with the ESG team. Thanks to everyone's dedication, we have a more mature and efficient report each year," commented Anne Pereira, the company's ESG manager.
SGBH is proud to be a strategic partner for the Brazilian energy transition and, internally, our emissions management has guided initiatives that further expand our commitment to combating climate change.
Initiatives such as the acquisition of electric vehicles for its operational fleet, prioritizing the use of renewable fuels in flex-fuel vehicles, and the acquisition of international renewable energy certificates are driving our journey to reduce the company's emissions.
