Altamiro de Moura Pacheco State Park (PEAMP) in Goiás has received new infrastructure thanks to State Grid Brazil Holding (SGBH). The guardhouse and administrative headquarters have been renovated to provide greater security and comfort for those working in and visiting the conservation unit, which is essential for environmental protection in the state.
The initiative received an investment of approximately R$1,400,000, made possible by the ISE (Social Investments in Companies) line from BNDES to SGBH, in partnership with the Goiás State Secretariat of Environment and Sustainable Development (Semad). The project was completed on July 29.
ISE is a financing option designed to support projects with social and environmental impact by companies, associations, and foundations. It allows resources to be invested in initiatives such as infrastructure renovations, implementation or improvement of environmental management systems, and occupational health and safety policies.
"We have a solid and productive partnership with Semad and PEAMP, marked by technical dialogue and responsible licensing processes. The park renovation supports the management of a conservation unit that is vital to Brazil's ecological balance and sustainable development," commented Anne Pereira, the company's ESG manager.
In addition to the park renovation, SGBH's work at the site includes planting and maintaining more than 160 hectares of reforestation, integrating forest replacement programs and contributing to the preservation of local biodiversity.
"We operate over 16,000 km of transmission lines across the country, including strategic projects in Goiás, such as XRTE and GATE, which strengthen energy security and support the transition to a low-carbon economy. Investing in environmental conservation is part of our commitment to the country," concluded Jorge Bauer, Vice President of SGBH.
